Buncombe County Schools and all North Carolina public schools want to make sure we are encouraging students to be their best selves both in academics but also in student ability to adapt, to collaborate, to communicate, to think critically, to show empathy, to learn, and to take personal responsibility.
At Enka High School, we have some great posters around the school encouraging students to take personal responsibility, persevere, and show empathy. We are excited and proud of student Taylor McHone, who designed the wonderful posters highlighting traits that make a "Portrait of a Graduate." Faculty and Staff have been giving incentive cards to students who have exemplified those traits in everyday activities. Students receive a small prize and then at the semester’s end, entered into a drawing.
Last Friday, at the Sweetheart Court Pep Rally, two of those students were randomly chosen to receive a great prize of 2nd generation Apple Airbuds. Congratulations to Cyan Mack and Conor Wood!
Teachers and administrators have a new set of incentive cards to give out this semester and are looking out for students who show the characteristics that make the best Portrait of a Graduate here at Enka High!
